How to Make These Super Simple Summer Salad Recipes for RV Camping

Is there anything that tastes better than a nice cold salad in the middle of a hot summer day? Not for us! However, we do not want to spend time in the RV kitchen making a bunch of food either! So, that is why wanted to share How to Make these Super Simple Summer Salad Recipes for RV Camping with you all!

These salads are favorites of ours we enjoy making (and eating) all summer long! We hope you enjoy them!

 

 

GG’s Fruit Salad

 

Ingredients:

1-3oz pkg instant vanilla pudding (dry)
1-3oz pkg instant lemon pudding (dry)
2 cans chunk pineapple (20 oz in juice)
2 cans mandarin oranges drain from 1 can
12 maraschino cherries cut in half

5-6 Bananas (save for later)

Mix all above ingredients into a large bowl. Stir & refrigerate. Add 5-6 bananas later & fold into mix.

 

 

Mom’s Pistachio Salad AKA Watergate Salad


Ingredients:

1 (20oz.) can crushed pineapple, in juice, undrained

1 package (3.4oz.) of Jell-O Pistachio Flavor Instant Pudding

½ cup chopped pecans

1 ½ cups thawed Cool-Whip Whipped Topping

1 cup Jet-Puffed Miniature Marshmallows

 

Combine ingredients and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.

This is another one our favorite “go-to’s” for any Tailgate Party at the Campground! This Cheese Dip can be used as a dip or even a main meal!

 

 

 

Mom’s Cherry Surprise

Ingredients:

Cool Whip (8oz.)

Borden Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk (14oz.)

Wilderness Cherry Pie Filling

1 Cup Nuts

1 Cup Miniature Marshmallows

Beat Cool Whip and Borden Eagle Brand Milk on Medium speed. Add Wilderness Cherry Pie Filling, Nuts, and Miniature Marshmallows. Refrigerate.

 

 

Grandma Shirley’s Apple Salad

1 bag Jonathan Apples

½ jar Miracle Whip

1 tbsp. or more of sugar to taste

Milk (enough to get mixture to a non-runny state but not too thick)

Salted Peanuts with Skin (2 bags)

Spanish Peanuts (2 bags)

Bananas (3-4)

Dice up apples. Slice up bananas and add peanuts. Then make mixture of mayo and milk. Add some sugar to taste. Then mix in apple and banana mixture. Refrigerate.

 

 

 

GG’s Potato Salad

Ingredients:

Potatoes (peeled)

Eggs (boiled)

Sweet Pickles (keep juice)

Onions

Salt

Salad Dressing

Paprika

 Boil potatoes until tender. Cut up potatoes into bite size pieces. Peel eggs and dice up. Add eggs with potatoes. Dice sweet pickles and onion and add to mixture. Add salt. Pour in pickle juice and add salad dressing. Pour paprika on top of it.

 

 

Angie’s Ranch Salad with Chopped Ham

Ingredients:

8oz. (or 1 full cup) of cubed ham

Chopped Cherry Tomatoes

2 cups Macaroni Noodles (cooked per package instructions)

1 package of Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing Prepared

1 cup Shredded Colby Jack Cheese

Mix all ingredients together and stir. Top with Shredded Cheese. Refrigerate after preparing.

 

 

 

GG’s 7-Layer Salad

Ingredients:

Peas (1 bag, frozen)

Water Chestnuts (1 can)

Onion (diced)

Celery (diced)

Lettuce (shredded)

Mayo

Shredded Cheese (whatever your favorite)

 

Layer shredded lettuce, onions, celery, water chestnuts, and cheese. Then, the last layer is a spread of mayo on top with peas and shredded cheese sprinkled on top of mayo.
