6. Our Family Tradition Chex Mix

(Plus Microwave Chex Muddy Buddies aka Puppy Chow for the Kids) Who are we kidding, it’s for the adults too (But NOT for Dogs!)

Our Family Tradition Chex Mix (We never said anything about this being healthy)

6 Tbsp of Bacon Grease

1 tsp Celery Salt

2 ½ tsp Worcestershire Sauce

1 tsp Tabasco Sauce

¼ tsp Onion Powder

2 Cups of Corn Chex

2 Cups of Rice Chex

2 Cups of Wheat Chex

1 Cup of Pretzel Sticks

1 Cup of Mixed Nuts

Mix and melt grease, salts, and sauces together in a pot on the stovetop. Next, mix in cereals, pretzels, and nuts and stir well. Heat in oven (preheated to 250 degrees) for 15 minutes and stir halfway through.

Microwave Chex Muddy Buddies (aka Puppy Chow)

1 Cup Chocolate Chips (semi-sweet)

¼ Cup Butter

½ Cup Peanut Butter

1 ½ Cups Powdered Sugar

1 Tsp Vanilla

9 Cups Chex Cereal (any variety, we use Corn Chex Cereal)

Combine Chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 1 minute. Stir mixture and then microwave an additional 30-45 seconds until smooth.

Next, stir in the vanilla.

Pour the Chex Cereal into a large mixing bowl. Next, pour the microwaved mixture onto the cereal and stir until the cereal is evenly coated.

Next, pour the entire mixture into 2-gallon food safe storage bags and add powdered sugar into the bag. Seal the bag well. Now shake until well coated.

Finally, pour the mixture onto waxed paper and allow to cool (20-25 minutes).  Be sure to store this in an airtight container in the fridge.

7. Super Simple Cinnamon and Sugar Doughnut Holes (and Doughnuts) for the Air Fryer

Refrigerated biscuit dough (ex. Grands)

Cinnamon

Sugar

Mini Circle Cookie Cutter

Preheat Air Fryer to 360 degrees, cut doughnut holes from biscuits with small/mini circle cookie cutter.

Spray the doughnut holes with cooking spray, air fry for 6 minutes (shake basket after 3 minutes to ensure cooking on all sides). Remove from basket, brush the donut holes with melted butter, and roll the donut holes in cinnamon/sugar mixture.

Next, repeat the steps above with the leftover doughnuts. Instead of shaking the basket, just flip the doughnuts after 3 minutes to ensure cooking on both sides.
