Introduction to The Extremely Anticipated RV Release! [SOWLE Journeys of Faith]

SOWLE Journeys of Faith

Don’t get me wrong, I really do like RV camping in the motorhome, and we have had some great trips. However, I’ve REALLY missed RV Camping in our much roomier travel trailer this year.

I didn’t realize how much I missed it until I stepped in to load it up. The excitement really hit me! THERE IS A TON MORE ROOM in this 36’ RV!!! Well, compared to our little motorhome that is 24’! It really made me appreciate it even more.

We are truly blessed to have both RVs so that we can take trips in the summer and winter months now. Even more, so that my 88-year old grandmother, aka GG, can take the motorhome and camp with us while we are in the travel trailer!

30 Days of an RV Camping Trip

That’s exactly what we did! 30 days of RV Camping at 2 different Kansas State Parks! Not too shabby considering it’s GGs very first RV Camping of her life at age 88! We had so much fun!

A Very Special Day: The 16th Birthday Celebration During the RV Release!

We celebrated our son Aiden’s 16th birthday with a movie night. We saw that A Dogs Journey (2019) was going to be coming out on Amazon Prime Video very soon. However, we realized this was the second part to a movie we had not seen yet, A Dogs Purpose (2017). Aiden decided THAT was the movie he wanted to watch on his Birthday!

We got out our trusty adaption for making it possible to have TV While RV Camping, and Aiden popped popcorn with the Hot Air Popcorn Popper! He likes to do this himself with an Adapted Switch and a PowerLink Control Unit. We had the most wonderful time watching a movie together as a family!

The Food

There have been many meals prepared and PawPaw Tom even smoked his first Pork Dinner along with Gamma Pam’s Smoked BBQ Baked Beans in the smoker! YUM! We got that recipe from the Camp Host we know, aka Uncle Bob. Our Favorite Meal While RV Camping article has that recipe!

We also had our usual Crockpot Cheating While RV Camping and our 7 Super Simple Recipes for RV Camping. I really love having those planned, it makes it so much easier to just kick back and enjoy RV Camping now that the RV release has happened!

The Games

We played indoor and outdoor games. GG had never played Wa Hoo Marbles before so we taught her how to play! My Dad made our Wa Hoo Board Game but you can purchase the Original Wa Hoo Board Game or a more Modern Wooden Wa Hoo Board Game.

By the way, you all know I have to tell you when we find great things for inclusion for Special Needs. Aiden is able to use this Switch Adapted Dice Roller to play Wa Hoo with an Adapted Switch too! They also really enjoyed playing the Ring Toss Game that Mom brought along. They were able to sit in their wheelchairs and throw the rings right to the wood ring board! GG was VERY good at it, however, we think Aiden prefers Technology Assisted stuff; typical teenager!

The Stars

We did a little star gazing and constellation searching because we heard on the news that there was supposed to be a very good chance to see Meteor Showers that evening. Aiden enrolled in a High School Astronomy Course this year and he was very interested in seeing the Meteor Shower!

We used the SkyView Lite App to find what we were looking for as far as constellations, the International Space Station, and the Hubble Space Telescope. Such a fun thing to do on a beautiful, clear night when you can see all of the stars in an open area such as the campground! This is one of the main things we have missed before this RV release finally occurred!

Sunrise, Sunset

In my personal opinion, the lake is the absolute BEST time to check out the Sunrise and Sunset! Wide open space creates the most perfect set up for a spectacular view!

Those of you interested in creating inspirational and motivation nature photography for anyone, including those with special abilities, really MUST get out there and get some photos at the lake or your favorite campground! Nature photography is one of Aiden and my favorite photography theme!

Additionally, we did some Bird Watching (although surprisingly there were not that many birds to see). We saw some Kill Deer, Sparrows, and the beautiful Blue Birds were very common.

In Conclusion to The Release! [SOWLE Journeys of Faith]

Overall, it was AWESOME to get the Travel Trailer back out for another Journey, and we are ready to continue on many more journeys this year, so be sure to follow us on our journeys by joining the SOWLE RV Community below!

Everybody Has a Story to Tell

Everyone has had that moment (or more) where they knew something that happened was destined to happen. The blessing that occurred at just the right moment (even if maybe it wasn’t exactly what you had been praying for). It was just supposed to be THIS WAY moment. It felt right. We love hearing peoples stories about those divine moments when something happened and you just knew it was supposed to. We would love to hear YOUR story! We plan to add a section on our website for YOUR stories! If you would like to share your story and be considered for having it added to our site, send us a message below and we will get in contact with you.
