Funny Things Seen and Heard While RV Camping Part 2

 Well we told you there would be more funnies after our article on “Funny Things Seen While RV Camping Part 1-‘Cause We All Know There WILL BE MORE!” There HAVE been more and even more of them tend to be OUR FAMILY INVOLVED! Here is Funny Things Seen and Heard While RV Camping Part 2!

 

RV Camping Like a Boss

A Woman comes walking up to this campsite across from us and we can’t even figure out where she came from! It was like she appeared from out of nowhere! But I assure you, she came walking up like a boss!

She directs her husband in his motor home into his spot with perfection and a sense of ease. They have obviously done this before.

She was swirling around in her long skirt so fast that it made me wonder for a minute if something was wrong. Maybe they were in a hurry??

 

 

She immediately gets her dog out of the motor home and starts taking it for a walk, so I guess all is well!

Then, like a Boss himself, the male dog marks his territory on EVERY SINGLE CAMPSITE POST on their walk.

Now that’s how you take ownership of your surroundings and go RV Camping Like a Boss!

 

Take a Lesson from the Boss mentioned above!

A Man pulling a travel trailer with his truck pulls into the campground (with his assumed wife and child). Woman hops out of the truck like she is ready to really help, as she’s obviously done many times before.

She begins to guide the man backing up into site and he’s obviously not paying any attention to her. He is only paying attention to where the trailer is going and not the front of his truck.

Well his truck eventually ends up pointing straight down into the ditch across the street!

 

The Insanity Continues…

You may remember reading about “The Definition of Insanity” in Part 1 of Funny Things Seen and Heard While RV Camping. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results. Well the insanity continues…

Again, I’m not making fun of people who can’t back up an RV into a campsite!! I would NEVER have the guts to even try it myself as I can barely back up a minivan into a campsite! However, maybe reading this article Mark wrote about The 12 Important Steps for Towing an RV Safely [Bonus Important Safety Tips for Towing a Boat with a Truck Camper and How to Back Up an RV Trailer] and having a plan would help some of these poor people! They just keep backing up those RVs, jackknifing them, and then pulling forward to try again just to end up doing the exact same thing again!

 

Only Funny AFTER the Fact

A young woman pulls up to her parents’ campsite to let her Mom out at her site after going into town. She leaves her 88-year-old grandmother in the truck with it running to keep her cool.

Then, she comes back out of parent’s RV and hears her Grandmother yelling “help” and she looks to see her with the door open and the truck moving forward at a good pace.

She runs with all her might towards the truck, jumps into the driver’s seat (thankful she left the doors unlocked) and hits the break as they end up in a large cedar tree!

Apparently, she left the truck in Drive and it eventually revved up and started moving eventually. Everyone was fine, no injuries. But quite a story for this first time RV camping 88-year-old woman to tell!

This was our family and GG said later “I mowed down that cedar tree!”

 

The Roof is on FIRE!

I promise I’m not trying to pick on our GG, however, she did have quite a few experiences during her first RV Camping Trip! This next funny happened in the bedroom of our Motor Home.

I had purchased one of the Skylight Covers with reflective surface for the living room, but forgot to get one for the bedroom. I didn’t realize it until the night before we planned to leave that the light really comes into the bedroom.

So, I looked around to see what I could find to put up in the Skylight. I found a piece of crate foam that we had cut up for Aiden’s smaller bed. So, I put it up in the skylight and that was that.

After her first night camping, the next day was a very sunny day. She went back into the bedroom of our Motor Home, looked up at the ceiling and thought it was on fire, so she used the Intercom System to tell my Parents “The Roof is on Fire”!

I’m certain my parents moved much faster than they thought they could to get over to the motor home!

 

A Little Late, Aren’t We?

Father in SUV getting ready to attach travel trailer to hitch…having a conversation with teenage daughter directing him.

Teenage daughter: “To the left a little.

Father: “Which left? My left or your left?”

Teenage daughter: “That left (as she points to her left).”

Teenage daughter: “Now back up.”

I hear trailer hit the hitch…HARD and rocked the RV pretty good!

Teenage daughter: “STOP!”

Father: “A little late, aren’t we??”

 

Star Gazing and the Great Black Hole

While we were camping, we were standing outside watching for a meteor shower that was supposed to happen. I pulled up the Sky View App to show Aiden all the constellations. A few of us did see one very beautiful shooting star (the largest I personally have ever seen)!

We decided to change positions and ended up in the middle of the road watching and waiting to hopefully see more. (By the way, it was late at night and no one on the roads).

We weren’t seeing anymore shooting stars, so we decided to check out the Sky View App some more. It was then that I saw the Hubble Space Telescope in the App.

However, it wasn’t when I was pointing the iPhone to the sky to see it, it was when I pointed my cell phone straight down.

I said, “Oh Aiden, The Hubble Space Telescope is right underneath Gamma!”

My husband pipes up and says, “it’s seeing the great black hole!!” Hahaha!
