No More Social Media?

Don’t get me wrong, I think social media is great. I mean I am a blogger! Ha-ha! I love all the amazing technology we have nowadays! It has been a huge help with my son who has special needs. But we all know we overuse it to a degree. I realize it more and more when we are camping.

I cannot tell you how many times I have been listening to the radio in the RV and have yelled at Alexa to “cancel” or “stop playing music”. My son just looks at me like I’m crazy. It usually takes me a few seconds to realize what I just did.

So no, I’m not suggesting that you go to some place out in the middle of nowhere and leave your cell phone at home. I’m not even suggesting that you go to a campground and leave your cell phone at home. I’m simply suggesting a little less time staring at a screen and a little more time with your family.

The kids are most likely not going to suggest it, nor are they probably going to be thrilled with the idea. But I bet after a fun RV camping trip, they have much more to share when they get back to their devices!

What do we do for Entertainment then???

The worst thing you can do on an RV Camping Trip is sit around and do absolutely NOTHING for the entire trip. Some relaxing time is great and good for the soul, however, relaxing to the point of complete and total boredom is NOT going to help your cause! There are many things your family can do while RV Camping to keep everyone happy and entertained!

A great way to have a fun evening is to have an outdoor Movie Night! You can use a Smart Phone Projector that works with your iphone (I know I said remove devices BUT this is for a movie)! Ha-ha! You can also get many different types of Outdoor Movie Screens for outdoor use if you don’t have an Outdoor TV! However, adding an Outdoor TV Mount to your RV is a great option as well!

Making Memories with your Family

I have told you all many memories that I have from my childhood of RV Camping with my family. Mark has many memories of RV camping with his family as well. We very much want that for our son, Aiden, too. He is getting that, and he loves it. It’s all we talk about all winter! There’s always a countdown to our next trip. There’s just something about getting away from it all and being in the moment with family. Making memories with your family can be something you all can look back on for many years. Less Stress and Anxiety

Our anxiety levels go down and our energy levels go up. The stress relief we get from leaving it all behind and getting away, well, believe it or not, I have no words for it!

So, do we put our phones away the entire time we are camping? No, of course not. But we do really try to be more present. Sometimes we succeed better than other times, but we try.
