#1 Comfortable Weather

Not too hot, Not too cold, Just Right!

I know Fall is one of our favorite times to get in a few trips before it’s too cold in the Midwest for camping. The temperature during the day is perfect although the evenings can get a little cool. It’s certainly better than 100 degrees plus and Heat Warnings the entire RV Camping Trip! Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE SUMMER and warm weather but some days in Kansas can get VERY HOT! That’s what makes Fall camping so much better; you get the best of BOTH! And ohhhh, those campfires at night! Just perfect!

#2 Less Bugs

Oh my gosh, this year, with all the flooding rains, we have had TONS of Mosquito’s on our RV Camping trips! Not just while camping but at home too! I have also noticed a major increase in spiders everywhere! Oh, and the gnats at dawn and dusk while camping; don’t get me started on those! Right at the time we all met at our RV to eat dinner every evening too so of course, the gnats all came inside to join us! Ahhh Fall with so few bugs! How we love you!

#3 Less Crowds

The exact reason I am writing this article is the reason Fall camping trips are the best! Because most kids are back in school and aren’t out having camping trips with their families. Seriously, get those kiddos out here to the campgrounds before winter gets here and they’re stuck inside on all of those technology devices all winter!

#4 Changes in Nature

There are sights to be seen while Fall RV Camping! In the Midwest, birds tend to begin their migrating from North to South in late September, early October. Some can start as early as the end of August though!

For example, Oriole’s tend to head south as soon as the berries (their primary food source) starts to disappear. Fall is the perfect time to see a wider variety of the bird population for sure and what better way to do that then to head out for a Fall RV Camping Trip! Foliage changes can be absolutely breathtaking in the fall! If you have never witnessed this in the Midwest, especially Kansas, I assure you, it’s worth taking a trip here to check it out!

#5 Entertainment in a Whole New Way

RV Camping in the Fall can bring about entertainment in a whole new way! Pumpkin Patches, Apple Picking at the Orchard, Corn Mazes, Hayrides, and our favorite, Crockpot Meals! Those are many reasons to enjoy RV Camping Fun in a whole new way than you would in the summer months!

There are also MANY Fall Crafts, Activities, and Hobbies to partake in while RV Camping in the Fall! In addition to Bird Watching, as mentioned earlier, other exciting hobbies for ANYONE while RV Camping is Photography (including Photojournalism), Geocaching, and Documenting all those memories you’ve made while RV Camping the past summer by doing Fall Crafts!
